Krushi Saarthi ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of farmers who use our app. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
About this policy
This policy covers the Krushi Saarthi (also written Krishi Saarthi) Android app and this public website. Our farming tools include market prices, farm accounts, worker records, weather and Crop Health. The sections below add details about Google sign-in, optional Google Drive backup and the services used to deliver these features. You do not need to sign in to read this policy or browse the public website.
What we collect
Phone number (for account creation), optional profile details (name, photo, location, farming crops), and app usage data (transactions, ledger entries, worker records). Market rates and weather data are fetched from public sources based on your location selection.
How we use it
To authenticate you, provide farm records and crop-rate information, deliver market-update notifications, process Crop Health checks, manage allowances and purchases, and provide support. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Google sign-in and account information
If you choose Google sign-in, Google and Firebase verify your identity. The sign-in flow requests basic email and profile access. We receive verified identity information and store your Firebase Google user identifier, email address and name with your app account to create or recognise that account. Google profile information, such as a profile image, may be available during sign-in. We do not receive your Google password. Authentication tokens are used to verify sign-in and establish an app session. Google sign-in does not itself authorise access to your Drive backup.
Optional Google Drive backup and restore
If you connect Google Drive for the eligible backup feature, we request the drive.appdata permission (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata). This lets the app find, read, create and update its own backup in the hidden application-data folder of your chosen Google account, rather than browse your other Drive files. Farm backup data is retrieved from our service and uploaded from the app to Google Drive. When you choose to restore, the app downloads the backup and sends it to our service to preview and restore your records. Connected backup can also update automatically after changes, subject to the feature’s availability.
What a farm backup contains
The backup includes worker names, worker transaction descriptions, amounts and dates, and manually entered farm-ledger categories, descriptions, income or expense amounts and dates. Our server encrypts the record payload before it is uploaded to Drive. Backup metadata also includes your app account identifier, export time and record counts. Our service decrypts the payload when you request a preview or restore, so this is not end-to-end encryption.
How Google data is used and shared
Google identity information is used for account authentication, and Drive backup data is used for the backup and restore features you choose. These flows involve Google, Firebase, the app and our backend service. We do not sell Google user data or use Google identity or Drive backup data for personalised advertising. Krushi Saarthi’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Crop Health photo processing is described separately below.

You can disconnect Google Drive in the app’s backup settings and revoke Krushi Saarthi’s permissions in your Google Account connections settings. Revocation stops future authorised access; it does not automatically delete records already saved in your Krushi Saarthi account or an existing Drive backup. Manage or delete the app’s hidden backup data through Google Drive settings under Manage apps. For account and server-data deletion, use the email request described in “Your rights”. You may need to authorise Google again to use a disconnected feature.

Voice input is optional and starts when you tap a microphone control. With your permission, the device’s speech-recognition service processes your speech and returns text for the selected search or entry field. Recognition may use network processing through the speech-service provider. Review the recognised text before saving it; text you save as a farm record is handled like other records described in this policy. You can type instead or remove microphone permission in your device settings.
Where your data lives
Your farm records are stored on our servers. Your phone number is verified through Firebase Authentication.
Account and backup protection
Our backend verifies the Firebase identity token before issuing an app session, and checks account ownership before restoring a farm backup. App session tokens and some preferences are kept on your device. Keep your device and account secure; do not share passwords, OTPs or tokens. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
Usage information, notifications and website storage
The app uses Firebase Analytics, and this website uses Google Analytics, to understand visits and feature use. Usage information can include device and app information, language, page or screen views and interaction events. The app also uses an installation identifier for usage analysis. Notification tokens are registered to deliver app notifications. The website stores preferences such as language and theme in cookies or browser storage; Google Analytics may also use cookies. You can manage browser storage and device notification permissions in your browser or device settings. Firebase Analytics can also receive your app-specific account identifier and properties such as language, state and district. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash diagnostics and can receive the app-specific account identifier to help investigate failures.
Advertising
The app shows ads from Google AdMob on some screens to keep the app free. AdMob may use device identifiers as described in Google's privacy policy.
Stored records and deletion requests
Account details and farm records are stored to let you return to your account and use its features. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete server records or a Google Drive backup. The app keeps backup connection details such as the backup file reference and last backup time on your device. You can request account and data deletion using the contact below; our existing 30-day request process also applies to Google-linked account data held by us. Google Drive backup data must be managed separately as described above. Never send your password, OTP or authentication tokens in a support request.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process the request within 30 days.

When you submit a check, your selected crop photo, optional crop name and selected language are sent through our server to Dhenu, our AI analysis provider, to generate crop guidance. We associate the check with your account to return the result and manage allowances or credits. Submit only photos you have the right to share. Avoid including people, documents or other personal information.
Dhenu’s data practices
Dhenu’s policy permits model training with aggregated, de-identified data or explicit opt-in. Processing may occur outside India. It gives no fixed crop-photo retention period. See the provider policy below; contact us about your submitted photos.
Dhenu privacy policy ↗Check records and copies on your phone
Our server stores check details, status, results and allowance or credit transaction records to provide the service and handle interrupted checks. The app keeps a private photo copy for a pending check and to display a completed result. Starting a new photo check or signing out clears completed local photo copies; unresolved checks may remain for recovery by the same account. Removing a local copy does not by itself delete server records or copies processed by our AI provider.
Your choices for crop photos
Crop Health is optional. You can use other app features without submitting a crop photo. Camera or photo access is used to take or choose the image for your check.
